Hello Vlad. I wanted to thank you once again for the consultation. Here's how our family reunion visa story ended: we joined my husband in Germany on 31 May this year. On 8 August we applied for our residence permits (that was the appointment we were given on arrival), and today the whole family received physical residence permit cards valid for four years. My husband and I were also referred to integration courses. The sooner we pass B1, the sooner they will reimburse half of the cost. Everything went very fast.

Read more →Usually yes, but there are exceptions: for example, the spouse of a Blue Card holder doesn't need to prove language skills.
Housing must be adequate for the family. Blue Card holders don't need to prove living space.
Blue Card holders whose permit was issued after 1 March 2024 can bring their parents if they cover their living costs and insurance.
Family members' permits are usually tied to the permit of the person they join. In one of our cases the family received permits for 4 years.
