Yes, but the consulate looks at the link to Germany. Some German clients noticeably strengthen the application.
Freelancers work for themselves and arrange their own payroll and social protection. With EOR you're an employee of a German provider, which is easier for visas and banks.
Formally no, but German makes working with local clients and authorities much easier.
With a complete package, it can be quick. In our Berlin case the documents were sent via the contact form on 22 November, an appointment for 4 December came on 24 November, and on 4 December a 3-year permit was approved.
At many embassies, not yet: freelancing and self-employment are often paper-only, while the Blue Card and Chancenkarte have already moved to the Auslandsportal.
